Hello beautiful people!
I have some rituals every morning and I just don’t get up right away after I have woken up. I take my mobile and check the blog, new e-mails, newspapers and the like. Yesterday when I woke up I was a bit extra lazy before I got up since it was Saturday and took some pictures that I posted on Snapchat. My boyfriend had already gotten up while I was still in the bed playing with my mobile. I believe I spent half hour before I finally managed to leave the bed.
Usually I make breakfast when I have guests but this time she was faster than me and she had already made us breakfast when I got up. It was an amazing breakfast with eggs & bacon, tomato beans, bread, watermelon, cucumber and juice. The weather was not the best but the view makes a special atmosphere despite no sunshine and we had a wonderful time together when we were eating the breakfast and talking together.
Cris wanted to go out to have a look at the city and do some window-shopping. Since we had decided to go to a club in the evening we had to make it to Vinmonopolet before 3pm. You probably wonder what the heck Vinmonopolet is and why exactly before 3pm. Well, Norway has some really strict rules when it comes to alcohol and Vinmonopolet is a special shop where they sell wine and spirits since you cannot buy that in the supermarket and it closes at 3pm on Saturdays. So if you don’t make it then no liquids for you haha. Cris wanted buy champagne since it was Paul’s birthday and it was a nice way of celebrating him.
Cris loves to shop so ended up spending many hours in the mall. She is a bit picky when it comes to clothes and that’s why she couldn’t decide easily. I wasn’t looking for something special but I ended up buying a summer hat and a mini skirt. It wasn’t the plan but I made a really good deal hehe. There are a lot of sales and it is tempting to buy everything you see and that is dangerous because you risk spending everything on the bank account. I am a bit proud of myself since I did not spend much money and what I bought I had already planned to buy months ago.
My boyfriend is passionate for football and he cheers for Italy in the Euros. Italy was going to play against Germany in the quarter finals so we had to watch the game before we left for the club. The guys were sitting in the sofa watching the game whilst I was preparing the food and Cris was making herself ready for the night. It was a really existing game and a lot of nerves. The game finished 1-1 at full time and since no team managed to score in overtime the game went to penalties. I believe it is the worst penalty contest I have ever witnessed. The best players were the ones who missed the penalties. Unfortunately, Germany made fewer mistakes than Italy and won the game. My boyfriend was devastated and fortunately we had alcohol at home so he could drown his sorrows haha. No I’m just kidding. He was devastated right after the match but he is not angry for very long and one hour or so afterwards he was himself again and in a good party mood.
The guys started to lose their patience with us since we girls like to spend lot of time when we are making ourselves ready for the night. To entertain themselves they started to sing local songs and drinking together. We left home a bit late and we were in the city just before 1am. Actually the bars close at 3am in Norway so we didn’t get so many hours out but we had a really wonderful time. The opening hours in Norway are a bit silly and different from Brazil where I come from but I have just accepted them as they are since I don’t want to use my energy on it.
I think it is important to live the moment and have fun since you never know what tomorrow might bring. Besides, the week is full of duties and hard work and therefor it is important to have a good time with friends and just forget about the hectic days in the week. The visit also helped my boyfriend to get some positive energy and stop thinking about the master thesis that he will deliver in the midst of July. This was a weekend to remember and I am so glad that Cris and Paul came to visit us.
Now we are going to watch Iceland against France and we cheer for Iceland since they are descendants from Norway. They are the crazy vikings that left Norway many years ago and now they are actually better than us but who cares, we love them! Are you going to watch the game as well?
How was your weekend?
