A brand new day beautiful people! A perfect day to introduce a new guest. Let us spread love and joy by visiting and supporting our new guest!
Hi there Manuel Thanks for accepting my invitation to be a guest on my blog today.
Hello Roberta. The pleasure is all mine. I feel honoured that you thought about me to be part of your blog. By the way, I love what you are doing with your blog, bringing greater exposure to other amazing blogs that don’t have many readers.
Q.1)What made you want to start blogging?
You know something Roberta, I thought I had a reason why I started to blog, but this past couple of days that same question has been in my mind, so let me share with you and all your readers what I have discovered so far:
I am a person that has experience a lot of emotional suffering and in a way I needed a way to release all of this pain, so I open a WordPress account to pour all my emotions there. I started to do it not cause I wanted people to like what I was writing, but it was more of a therapy for me. I know what you are thinking, “If it is a therapy for you, why not do it with paper and pen and not in the internet.” It is simple; when I was little I got ridiculed for writing poems about my emotions so I stopped then I started again on February of this year. I was so self conscious of people reading my emotions and in a way writing them on WordPress has given me my self esteem back cause people don’t call me names. To be honest, I can’t believe there are almost 800 people reading my emotions and liking what I write. It is surreal.
Q.2)How would you describe your blog to someone that never read it?
If you were to only see the name of my blog emotionsoflife2016 you will probably think it is someone writing about emotions and indeed it is about emotions, my emotions of life. I write about things that we all have felt, but sometimes we don’t know how to put it in words. I talk about suicide, happiness, love, passion, rejection, trying to let go, learning to love life and lately I have been trying to incorporate quotes from writers that I like. I am trying to be a little bit more positive and inspirational for my readers. I also post a philosophy question every day because I want to know and connect with my readers more. I want to know them on a deeper level, not just their names and where they are from.
Q.3)What’s your favourite part of blogging?
My favourite part of blogging is posting what my emotions and feeling made me feel each day or night. I also love the feedback or correction my readers give me. I also love how my readers see the meaning behind my emotions.
Q.4)What are the most difficult things about blogging? And what do you find the easiest?
Like I said before, I have been bullied a lot for expressing my emotions, so the most difficult thing about blogging is posting my emotions online, it is a trauma I deal with every time I go to my website and push PUBLISH. The easiest thing about blogging for me is writing, my emotions are always on. I guess I should be thankful for my suffering lol, right?
Q.5)How much time do you spend on blogging?
The majority of my time I spend on writing and reading other bloggers. At times I wish I could write more extensive comments on their beautiful pieces, but I don’t have a lot of time. Every single person that is following my blog, I follow as well. So as you can see commenting on 800 different blogs is a little impossible, but I do try. One thing is for sure, if I give a like to a post that means a read it.
Q.6)What do you think is the best social media strategy to get more visitors to a blog?
That is a difficult question to answer (well for me since I don’t have any social media lol) but I will say that the best social media strategy to get more visitors is to read other blogs and just care about them. After all, WordPress is a community and we should help each other, in any way we can, right?
Q.7)Would you encourage other people to make their blog?
Of course I would encourage other people to start blogging. It is better that watching television all day. You can blog about everything as long as you have a deep passion for what you are writing about.
Q.8)What inspired you to start your blog?
As I said before, my inspiration comes from my suffering and the pain I have felt during my lifetime. I know at times my blog seem a little sad and full of depression, but lets just analyse the best poets; all of them wrote with their heart on hand not to please anyone but to get that pain and grief out of them. SO suffering and pain inspire me to blog. Now, what inspire me to write when I was a little boy was the many emotions I had deep within me. All of them!!!
Q.9)How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
My motivation to continue writing is the passion I feel every time I finish a piece. Each piece is a part of me and if you want to know me better all you have to do is go to my blog and read every piece I have written and you will have an idea of what kind of person I am.
Q.10)What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
The most challenging moment in my blogging journey has been these past couple of days because I fell in love with a lady that don’t seem to understand how much I adore her. These past couple of days I was ready to pull the plug on my blogging journey, but right before I was going to delete my page, I started to read all the comments on my blog and I realised it would be a mistake if I were to delete it, so I will continue writing my emotions till the day I stop breathing.
Q.11)Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?
It would be a crime to just choose one. If I am following your blog then that means you are my favourite. Everyone has so much talent.
Q.12)What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
Well the best strategy is to be yourself, never try to copy other bloggers. Also continue doing it and in time other bloggers will find you are an amazing blogger and others like yourself will bring exposure to blogs such as mine. Never ask another blog to follow you, if you want others to read your blog, go to their blogs and comment on their work.
Q.13)What are you doing besides blogging?
I am an English-Spanish teacher (well trying to be)
Q.14) Is there anything else you would like to add?
Yes Roberta, I would like to add something; poetry is all about emotions. When you write poetry, you don’t worry about editing or make sure this word sounds better that that. When you write a poem it has to be the emotions speaking, an emotion doesn’t have a language. For me, when it comes to writing, I do it with my heart in my hand and I don’t worry about my grammar. What you read is the raw emotion I feel at the moment. I do not use a dictionary or a rhyme dictionary like many do. What comes out is what needs to come out and if I committed a grammatical mistake my beautiful and amazing readers will point that out and I will be happy to fix it.
Thank you for interviewing me Roberta and for thinking about me. It was such a pleasure answering your questions. Stay amazing and be ready for a poetry book in the future cause that is one of my goals before I close my eyes and cease to exist. Love you all.
