Today’s special guest; Joann

August 31, 2016

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is having a nice Wednesday. Today I have the honour to present you a new special guest that can help you choosing your dinner 🙂

I must say that I find your blog interesting since I always visit your blog when I am tired of my daily food and need some inspiration to spice things up.

Thank you Joann for accepting my invitation. Thanks for thinking of me Roberta. Here are my answers to your questions.

Q.1) what made you want to start blogging?

I started a private blog to share my holiday recipes with my family. My sister-in-law kept telling me to make it public. and after much prodding, she finally convinced me to publish it.

Q.2) How would you describe your blog to someone that never read it?

It’s a home cook’s recipe blog. Everything I publish is something anyone can make. Usually my recipes are  easy and can be made quickly and sometimes can be very impressive.

Q.3) What’s your favourite part of blogging?

My favorite part of blogging is reading the comments I get . It encourages me to continue blogging because they are normally very positive.

Q.4) What is the most difficult things about blogging? And what do you find the easiest?

The most difficult thing for me is coming up with new recipes to post. I am a creature of habit and tend to make the same recipes over and over.

Q.5) How much time do you spend on blogging?

I spend maybe 10 minutes to take my food pictures and write up my recipes, but I may spend up 2-3 hours prepping, cooking and cleaning up the mess I made afterwards.

Q.6) What do you think is the best social media strategy to get more visitors to a blog?

Giveaways and contests.

Q.7) Would you encourage other people to make their blog?
I would only encourage people to blog if it is something they have a passion about.

Q.8) How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I blog because I love to cook and share my recipes with others. I have a relatively small blog following, but they are the some of the nicest people I have never met and their comments are my motivation to continue blogging.

Q.9) What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
Trying to blog every week. There are just some weeks when life gets in the way or I just honestly haven’t made anything new I haven’t already posted previously.

Q.10) Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?
I tend to favor other food blogs for obvious reasons. Andrea Giang at Cooking With a Wallflower. Stephy at Stephy Sweet Bakes. Linda and Heidi at Fabulous Fare Sisters. Lynn at Lynz Real Cooking is especially moving with her retelling of her life struggles and family accomplishments.

Q.11) What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
I honestly haven’t really tried to get more traffic to my blog other than following great blogs and following back everyone that comments or follows my blog. My blog is something I just do for myself, not so much for recognition and obviously not for monetary reasons.

Q.12) What are you doing besides blogging?
Just dealing with life. Taking care of my family.

Q.13) Is there anything else you would like to add?
Follow my blog if you aren’t already? Pretty please and Thank You!
