Today’s special guest; Kim

September 4, 2016

It’s an incredible day in Norway today. The sun is shining and we can feel the last warm days for this year. It is wonderful to enjoy such a lovely after some very hectic days. I have enjoyed the day reading todays special guest something that I will encourage you to do as well. Kim is an author and will release her first book on September 20.

I  want to thank you Kim for accepting my invitation to be a guest on my blog today. Let us start 🙂

Q.1) what made you want to start blogging?

Well, I’ve always been someone who writes (and reads) in school English and textiles were my favourite subjects and still are! I started my blog as a personal space, and author site to interact with potential readers of my two books to be published this year, and any future books that I’m lucky enough to have published. I’m really glad that I started it’s really enjoyable reading other blogs, meeting new bloggers and attempting writing prompts and challenges.

Q.2)How would you describe your blog to someone that never read it?

Ahh, well just me being me really! No seriously, I do a lot of writing challenges and writing prompts so you’ll find short stories, poems, personal blog posts, excepts from my books, guest post and re-blogs that I’ve liked. It’s really a personal space focused on the love of words, writing and story -telling.

Q.3) What’s your favourite part of blogging?

Writing…. what else?  *wink

Q.4) What is the most difficult things about blogging? And what do you find the easiest?

The most difficult thing for me personally believe it or not, is plucking up the courage to share something that I’ve wrote. I never sit behind the lap top and think ah this is great this needs to be posted. I’m always a bit nervous but I just go for it. The easiest thing for me is to write like no one is looking lol, if I’m really engaged in a writing prompt or have an idea it flows.

Q.5) How much time do you spend on blogging?

I spend a lot of time reading other blogs and posts, I post or blog myself probably every other day as a minimum as I do the WordPress writing challenges that are posted daily, or my own I select from a prompt book, so pretty often.

Q.6) What do you think is the best social media strategy to get more visitors to a blog?

I’m actually still trying to work this one out, if anyone knows give me a shout.

Q.7) Would you encourage other people to make their blog?

100 % I think everyone should have some form of outlet.

Q.8) How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

By logging in daily, reading and catching up on what I’ve missed. Noting down things that may be worth writing about as they come to me during the day or week.

Q.9) What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?

Working out how to customise my theme, and why I could not add certain widgets, that really frustrated me so much so I gave up which is unlike me.

Q.10) Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?

I like reading yours! Because I love fashion, beauty and reading about life in general, Eddaz has some lovely poems on hers and always worth a read, HarlemATL has some interesting stuff , I like his site as you need an open mind to read it and he doesn’t hold back he is quite raw in a good way, Denise E Billups another author is great to read also, Miracle Girl does great writing challenges and of course I can’t forget Sir Ngobesing Romanuss he has such an uplifting blog space, really motivational and I think he comes across as such a lovely man. And Opinionated Man – Jason Cushman, he is too pretty  frank in his posts but I like it and he is also very amusing to read.

Q.11) What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?

Participating in writing prompts and challenges, reading and interacting with others so far.

Q.12)  What are you doing besides blogging?I

Writing, being a mama, working in the day job and loving life. You may catch me reading the odd book, watching some kind of beauty channel on Youtube as well, listening to music. If I have time  I’m at my sewing machine. But I rarely have time for that these days.

Q.13) Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?

As I’m about to go off in the direction as a published author I guess it will become part of the vocation as a writer now, so I’ll tick the professional box. That said I don’t do it as I feel it’s some kind of ‘’ job’’ I do actually have a passion for it.

Q.14) A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?

Sorry no, as this is not something I aspire to do so I have not really looked into it.

Q.15) Is there anything else you would like to add?

Yes!  Roberta thank you for having me beautiful it’s been fun. My message for your readers is….I’m Kim from London a romance-suspense and thriller writer. My first book A Stranger in France  will be published on the 20th September on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Thank you for answering these questions. I think we all have our reasons for blogging. We might share similarities and yet bring originality too. Best wishes, Kim. You’re a bright spot.
