Blog Daily Prompts

Planning is necessary to succeed

September 21, 2016

Today I have had my blog on WordPress for four months which has been a fantastic journey so far. I have to thank you all for the support that you have been given me in the last months. I have gotten in touch with so many incredible people with so many different minds. However, we are similar in someway since every one of us is trying to spread some kind of message throughout our blog.

I have blogging as my hobby and I need a full time job to pay off my bills as everybody else. However, it is not a crime to take a hobby seriously and that is exactly what I am doing regarding my blog. The last couple of weeks I have had a lot of time to blog and therefor I have had the chance to blog whenever I wanted to do so. This will change in the future though since I need to get a job very soon. I believe that time is like money and that we can manage to have sufficient of it if we spend it correctly. In order to get things done every day combining both blog and a job I need to plan my time very carefully.

Living together with a finance man like my boyfriend is really getting my ass kicked whenever I don’t plan things in a right way. He tells me that I am very creative but I struggle to get my ideas on a paper and that is where he helps me. I am very artistic in that way and new ideas are coming very often. However, only ideas will not grow my blog since I must act on the ideas as well. That is why he has helped me to make a schedule for my blog where I will have different topics at specified days in the week. This might change in the future but for now I will see how this goes.

I would love to have a specified time slot every day for my posts but this will depend on the type of job that I will get.

The new schedule:

Every day post – daily: I got inspired by Jason to have a series called daily post on my blog. Off course we have different daily types but the idea is somewhat the same. The daily can be everything from cooking to astronomy and is only an update of something that we are doing in that particular moment and these posts are not planned at all.

Mondays – Poetry day: I have also been fascinated of poetry and I believe that it can help me in a positive way. I love to read it and I will challenge myself to write a poem each Monday. If I don’t manage to write one I will reblog someone else’s. It is really important for me that you leave critical comments meaning that I want both good ones and comments where I can grow.

Tuesdays & Thursdays – Special Guest: This is the series where I invite people that fascinates me in a exiting way. There are always some people that you feel that you connect more with or that are able to capture your interest in a special way. I will keep on doing this and I will have this every Tuesday and Thursday. If you know someones that you think deserves to be a special guest please let me know and I will have a look at his/her blog.  You can send me an email on

Wednesday – Roberta gives advice (video/normal post): I am a very curious person and I have experienced a lot of things throughout my life and I know what works and what doesn’t. However, there are always new things to try out and this is what I will do in this series combined with the things that I know from before. I am blessed to live with an finance man so I will give you some economist tips and advice as well. Johan is really looking forward to help my readers as well.

Fridays – Food blog: I love food and I love to try new types of recipes. There are so many countries with great food culture and I will dig deep into different tastes from different countries. These recipes will be everything from quick meals to romantic dinners or just a quick smoothie or a lunch pack.

Saturdays & Sundays – Reblogs: Everyone needs to recharge and take care of the ones that they love. I am no different and to make my boyfriend wanting to keep being in a relationship with me I must give him some attention as well haha. Therefor I will only reblog some blogs on Saturdays and Sundays and I won’t have much activity on my blog this day in the week. Therefor be patient if you don’t get any replies on these days. Off course the daily every day post will come as normal. I also have to have some time for planning the new week and I will also use these days for doing that.

The message of this posts is that if you want to succeed in something you must planned it. If don’t have any plans for succeeding there are no need to plan either but to getting somewhere with something and build a blog you must be dedicated to what you are doing.

Might I suggest that blogging more than once a day is usually as much as most of us have time to read. I check nearly 200 blogs a day and quite obviously do not have time to read them all let alone make any comments so I become very choosy. As it is, I spend at least 2 hours a day on this task and longer if I find blogs interesting enough to read. After all, the magic word that all of us are looking for is “Like”. Any comments are icing on the cake…

The excellence of execution starts with a plan, adapts into a schedule, and a dream blossoms into reality. My best wishes for your future blogging.

This is exactly the post I needed to see today, after returning to wordpress! I’ve been so caught up with university and work that I haven’t given myself enough time to write or read blog posts. I like your idea of having a plan and will definitely try it myself! Looking forward to catching up on the blog posts I’ve missed and your future posts 🙂

  • Reply Tessa September 28, 2016 at 12:25 am

I don’t plan. The only thing that is a definite is the daily devotionals and if I want to I can write them in advance and schedule them for one a day. I use the scheduler to fill time when I feel up to blogging. No one knows when you actually wrote it. A schedule is fine if you can keep up with one. I can’t. I am subject to my moods. Good luck with your blog and your schedule.

Your post resonated with me. I am a fairly new blogger, blogging to bring awareness to my Life Coach business. However, I also continue to work my full time job and realized I need to plan for success in the blogging world, as I do everywhere else in my life. I’ve hit major milestones in my personal life, losing over 70 pounds and becoming debt free. However, I make it known that I did not fall into success. I definitely had to plan for it. Like you, I’ve decided I need to develop a realistic plan for blogging as well as supporting other bloggers.

Developing a plan of action to succeed is relevant for every aspect of life and in business. I’ve learned from your example with being consistent with a schedule.

It sounds like a good plan Roberta.

I don’t plan anything and it causes me to fail constantly. I started writing a children’s book. Yeah. That never finished. I started a novel, still unfinished. Started another one. Unfinished again. Organized my house and somehow the couch got to me. Ugh…
I go months without blogging sometimes. It’s sad. Maybe I should try a schedule like you? Let us know how it goes for you!

    Very nicely thought out schedule!
