Lucky day!'

December 7, 2016

Wow, I still can’t believe that I made it! It must be my lucky day  🙂

Today it is exactly three months since I moved to Trondheim, a town where I didn’t have so much friends or any network. I was very sceptical in the beginning and I felt that things did not work out as I wish. I’m not a very patient person and I prefer things to happen as fast as possible hahaha. This has a positive and a negative side. The positive side is that I never wait for tomorrow if it can be done today and the negative side is that I’m terrible to wait for something or someone. I have a lot to work with regarding my patient skills hehe.. The fact that I can reflect upon my weaknesses is a very useful skill which I’m glad for.

I have studied economics and I was therefor thinking about using my the studies for working in an office with administrational tasks. The goal is to finish the bachelor program in Trondheim. I took a break since I wasn’t sure about what to do but now I have finally figured out that I want to take the two year that I have left of the degree. I found it difficult to go out on my own and therefor I contacted a governmental institution in Norway called NAV and they sent me on a course. This was a strategy for building a network and getting some friend in my new town.

The course has helped me a lot and I have met people with different background and we were able to share the experiences which enabled us to learn from one another. The intention of the course is to force us to think things in a different way and be able to discover new possibilities. The course teaches us how to apply for positions, how to write CV, application and how to act on an interview regarding what to say and not to say. Another intention of the course is to discover the strong sides and what we can contribute with in the job market which is very positive. The period has been turbulent and I have had some struggles but fortunately I did not give up the course and today it finally yield a reward for my struggle.

I got an internship today where I am going to work in the office. I don’t have much experience working in offices and that is why the internship will be very helpful for me and it can lead to a full time position in the future. I will start on Monday and I cannot wait to finally start working and finally join my boyfriend as a worker.

I feel really lucky today and so grateful for this opportunity.

Take care!

I actually run the internship program at my office! It’s so rewarding for them that I wish I had done one before going to work full on in an office. 😉
