Only one day is left before Christmas and today’s special guest will be a Christmas guest that likes to inspire others with poems and other subjects. I hope you will welcome here with a lot of support. I wish everyone a merry Christmas.
Hi Okoto Thanks you for being a special guest on my blog today. It is very nice to have you here today!
Thanks for having me here Robbi. It’s an honour.
1. What or who inspired you to start blogging?
Basically, my life and my experiences are my inspiration; as well as wanting to help and motivate others. I write to free myself and let go off all the things I’ve held back so I can be at peace with myself. And expressing myself through my poems is what I do because it helps me vent in a different and artistic way.
2. Can you describe your blog to someone that never read it?
My blog, Okoto Enigma’s Blog@ http://okotoenigma.wordpress.com is mostly about poems; with the poet persona talking about love, sadness, despair, and finding strength amidst all that pain. I also write quotes; most of which I make up. I normally post the works of some of my fellow bloggers as it helps them get their work out there. I do share your link post, I share blogging tips with my readers, I do guest interviews as well and sometimes share photographs. I also created the Mystery Blogger Award which is one of my creative inventions. My blog is a mixture of so many things as I try to be creative, and to produce good content for my readers.
3. What’s your favourite part of blogging?
My favourite part of blogging is getting comments from my readers, complimenting my work and showing so much appreciation. I also love how people are able to relate to my poems and how I’m able to give them a little advice based on what I write because I know that I’m helping someone who needs it.
4. What is the most difficult things about blogging?
And what do you find the easiest? The most difficult is when I feel down sometimes and don’t really feel like blogging; but I do anyway. Because despite being busy, I find time to blog but when I feel sad; I guess, I’m not my usual self, and it takes a toll on my blog. The most difficult is also thinking about which WP plan to purchase lol, and how to pay (credit card or PayPal? I don’t know). The easiest about blogging is finding inspiration; as my life is my muse, and being able to connect with different people who appreciate what I do.
5. How much time do you spend on blogging?
I spend a lot of time blogging. It doesn’t matter where I am; as long as I’m free, I always check my blog. And when I’m not posting, I read people’s blog.
6. What do you think is the best social media strategy to get more visitors to a blog?
I’m not a social media expert, but I’ll advise getting your blog out there in anyway you can; either by posting about it or informing people about it through messages and broadcast.
7. Is blogging worth doing?
Would you encourage other people to make their blog? Blogging is really fun and worth doing; but I won’t encourage everyone to do it because most people just create a blog because they want to, or because they want to make money; and not because they have anything to post. Then, after some time, they abandon it. So if someone has something useful to post, they can create a blog. If not, stick to your social network.
8. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
I motivate myself by thinking about my readers and finding inspiration. I want to be a professional blogger someday so if I give up now, I won’t achieve my goal. That’s my motivation.
9. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
The most challenging was actually growing my blog during the first month because I didn’t really know what I wanted to do and I didn’t know anyone either; I just did whatever I wanted and learned so many things. But to be honest, the most challenging and most annoying is knowing that my friends don’t even care to visit my blog. I don’t know a lot of people, but the few people I know don’t even take a minute to check it out and it’s really heart breaking and challenging for me knowing that they don’t support me. Its still a challenge for me but I’m learning to accept that I can’t count on anyone; and I’ll grow my blog like I’ve always done; on my own.
10. Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?
If I have to name them, this answer will be very long. Definitely you Robbi, you’re one of my favourite bloggers because you’ve helped me in so many ways; and I can be quite a pest sometimes. I’ll stop here because I can’t list all my favourites bloggers; but they’re simply amazing and incredible.
11. What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
The best strategy was simply being friendly and supportive. Offering advice to bloggers, liking their post and leaving a comment when necessary.
12. What are you doing besides blogging?
Well I’m a student, so I go to school. When I’m not blogging or in school, I work on new posts, do my chores or any school work, watch tv, listen to music, or rest.
13. Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?
Blogging is just a hobby. It doesn’t provide money for me so there’s no way it can be a profession lol. I enjoy blogging, writing and sharing my thoughts with everyone. It’s a really fun hobby.
14. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?
The only tip I can give is for you guys to wait till you get a lot if traffic, plan things out and know what you want to do. If you rush into it, it probably won’t turn out well. Make research as well; it’s important to know what you have to do.
15. Is there anything else you would like to add?
Be yourself and enjoy what you do. Not everyone’s idea will work for you so formulate you own idea, plan ahead, and make research. Stick to what you know as well because your blog is unique and different.
Thanks for having me here. It felt great finally getting interviewed and opening up about so many things. This was really helpful and fun. I enjoyed my first guest interview. Thanks again.
