Getting too many emails?

December 27, 2016

When I started blogging I used emails in order to read other blogs but I found out that it got hard to pay attention to all the blogs via the emails ticking in on my account. I was getting hundreds a day and it was driving me crazy. Finally, I concluded that I am not divine and therefor I cannot do multiple things at once. I am not God haha. However, WordPress has really thought about everything in order to make our lives so much easier.

I just found out that we can pause all the emails and opening them whenever you have the time to read blogs. The brilliant thing about this is that you are still following the persons but you don’t have to receive the emails when you have paused it and you are able to open it once you have the time to read.

My life has changed now after I got a 100% apprenticeship and I don’t have the same time as before. I try to keep track on all the emails but I find it difficult to do so and that is why I just love the pause mechanism that I just described. I open the emails for two hours a day so that I can read some of the blogs on my contact list, but I prefer to use the WordPress app and see all my followers when they post something.

You can see on the pictures below how it is done if you are interested in the service from WordPress. If any questions I will happily answer you 🙂

Yes, this is good. What annoys me most is getting the same emails over and over. I once got the same notification 12 times!

Thank you for this useful tip, Roberta! I, too, have felt daunted by the volume of email, especially from one or two “followed” sites who seem to post 6-8 times a day (!). Yet I want to stay supportive for those blogs. Thx!
