The power of nature

January 2, 2017

In the last days of 2016 Johan and I discussed how warm it was in December. We were actually expecting a cold winter since Trondheim use to be much colder than what we are used to and we were very shocked about the temperature. In the city where Johan was born the temperature was actually 18 degree celcius which is way above normal. I think we are sensing some global warming here.

However, back to normal and we finally got our weather back again in the beginning of 2017. I woke up to a very white morning earlier today as you probably understood from reading my first post earlier today. I work 20 minutes by bus away from the town and it is a huge difference between the city and outside the city where I work when it comes to snow since the city lies near to the water.

The winter in Norway is very dark and it can be quite depressing when it is raining and the clock is only 4pm. However, the snow is actually lightening up the surroundings which makes the season not as dark and depressing and you can see how beautiful the snow is on the pictures. In the north of Norway there is a lot of northern light which can be seen from Trondheim as well but it is not as common as up in the north. Johan and I are planning to travel to Tromsø to look at the northern lights in the nearest future.

Well, I always use to buy expensive bags and contribute to the marketing of other brands. This time I ordered a neutral bag and put my blog name on it instead haha. I take the bus every day where I pass by a lot of people which is a great opportunity to make my blog visible by wearing a bag with my own name on. We know that marketing is very expensive and therefor we must think of alternative ways to make your name known. Many people will be able to know my blog in this way.

Well, this was some highlights from my day in winter wonderland 🙂 I guess I am getting more and more used to the snow and I actually prefer that to rainy days in Stavanger haha.

I wish you a lovely evening!

Great idea about the bag!! You are right, we work too hard for others; 2017 should be a time to focus on ourselves! 😁

Beautiful surroundings. Quite a contrast to the 80 degree F we are having here with practically no winter at all. Definitely climate change! Xx

We don’t get snow in Delhi, but we finally have some fog. It is still a warm winter

Roberta, love the idea of “passive” promotion through your bag. Way to go! And your comment on the snow making things lighter despite the long hours of darkness reminds me of my cousin, who lives in Alaska, who told me once that when it snows in the fall for the first time the mood gets much better in her city, since it makes things seem much lighter. 🙂
