What do you do when everything goes wrong?

January 16, 2017

What a day!!!! To be honest I don’t know how to begin to tell about the day today. Some days just don’t go as planed even when you do your best to turn the situation around. One strong character of Johan and I is that we like to plan our days and we like to have everything under control but one little thing can turn everything upside down. We had made all of our routines and everything seemed to go as planned until we were heading outside the door.

I was looking for the key to lock the door when I realised that it was not on its usual spot. I asked Johan where the key was but he did not know either. We both felt the stress level rising since I knew that Johan had to be at work and it was only his third day at his new work. He works far away and therefor he cannot afford to lose time when he is driving to his work and now we realised that it was exactly that what was about to happen.

Meanwhile the stress level was rising I thought to myself that I had to think clear since I was the one that did not have a time pressure on me. I asked him where he was on Friday when we used the keys. This gave him an idea to look in his pants and there he found the keys in the pocket of his pants. We took the keys and ran out the door towards the car happy that we were finally on our way but when we came to the car we could not believe the sight that came to our eyes. It had been snowing heavily and the car was full of snow. Johan was red in his eyes when he saw it and I don’t even dare to think about what was going through his mind at that moment.

I just told him to get in the car so that I could start to get rid of all the snow. He was not capable of shuffling the snow away due to his frustration so it was better for him to start the car and let the motor get warm to heat up the windows. It was so cold this morning that not even the door would open and I had to climb through the backseat to get in the car.

Actually, we had to go out of the car a couple of times to shuffle more snow of the car since it was completely full of snow. We finally made it to Heimdal and Johan was ready to drive towards his work. Johan is not a fan of driving on snow since he comes from a place in Norway where it gets a total chaos if it is snowing. He is driving very slowly and he always says that the locals are crazy since they are driving so fast haha.

When it finally seemed like it was going to go his way the rest of the day it would not do that either. He had a pretty good day at work but when he was on his way home he had to stop at the gas station to put some washer fluid on the car. He opened up the panzer and when he tried to close it then it would not close. He had to drive all the way to the city with an open panzer. Uff poor guy! What a day for him. I guess he is ready for bed now and finally be done with this day. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a much better day for him.

It was nice to get home and lighten up some candles and make a more cozy atmosphere. I tried to make him happy and make him see the humour in what had happened throughout the day since he cannot do anything about it now. Some days are challenging and we have to face them in the best way. However, here is a few shots of the outfit today.

No matter how bad it gets, it can always be worse and it can always get better.
