Our intuition is a powerful tool. It’s where our truth and authentic self is hiding. We often go around our lives listening to our logic, things taught by our parents, elders, and teachers. We might think that following reason is the smartest thing do in the moment, but the time will come when we’ll feel like our decisions aren’t matching what we really want anymore. And we’ll feel that everything was just a waste of time. By slowing down, we’ll be giving our intuition the opportunity to surface.
You can act from love’s standpoint
We have two choices to live our lives: (1) with fear (2) or with love. It’s because we fear everything that’s why we do our best to perfect our studies, our jobs, our family life, our love life, and whatsoever. By slowing down, we are able to access that other part of living: love.
You value your self-worth
When we become so caught up in our lives, we lose track of ourselves. We lose track of what’s really important: our own happiness. We forget to nurture and love our own souls. We become blinded by material objects, seeking validation from it.
You build up your self-esteem
When you slow down you become more cognizant of our needs and desires. It is through doing esteem-able acts that we build up our self-esteem.
You become more fulfilled
Fulfillment is something that’s done from within. The more we become attached to worldly things, and wanting to do things faster, the more we lose touch with our inner selves, until our sense of fulfillment diminishes entirely as fulfillment is only achieved by embracing the present.
You truly accept
Acceptance is the key to happiness and the solution to all our problems. There is absolutely nothing with acceptance except love and goodness. By allowing yourself to slow down, you’re giving yourself the time to internalize and accept your experiences, whether they are good or bad.
Your passion and purpose surfaces
We often let labels define us. We live through the norms of these labels or stereotypes. And over time, we might find ourselves unhappy. Our confidence in other people’s description of us ruins our own happiness and purpose. By slowing down, you’re allowing yourself to fully decide what you really want to do in life. You realize your personal goals and passions, and lead a life towards it, making way for a much more purposeful life.
