Celebrating love

July 17, 2016

There is nothing more beautiful in this world than when two people find one another and fall in love. Love gives butterflies in the stomach and i believe that no one is born to spend the life alone. Love is such a beautiful thing and it is so wonderful to have someone to share everything with and create memories for the rest of the life.

This weekend we were in the wedding of my boyfriend’s sister and we witnessed a beautiful ceremony where two people in love were celebrating the love for one another by promising to spend the entire life together. I get so touched when I am in weddings since I think that it is such a beautiful thing to do. Showing for one another, the respective families and the whole world that they want to be husband and wife.

The ceremony took place in an island called Karmøy just outside Haugesund. The whole family was gathered for the wedding even the ones from the other side of the country which we were very happy about. No one was missing and that made the day even more special.

After the ceremony we went to take some pictures because the wedding party did not start right afterwards so we needed to have something to do in the meantime. I got the chance to meet family members that I did not know from before and the event was a perfect opportunity for me to get to know the rest of my boyfriend’s family. I am a family person and think it is important to have a good relationship with the family and that is why I really enjoyed to get to know them better. We were laughing and having a really good time.

The wedding party started at 18:00 and the tables were covered with amazing decorations. For starters we had biscuits and cheese with some drinks. The main food in the wedding party was from Thailand and there was all kinds of exiting food to taste and it was delicious. I did not have the chance to take so many pictures because there were so many things happening and I wanted to be present and pay attention to the speeches, the songs etc. The toastmaster was really funny and he made us laugh several times during the evening.

This is my boyfriend together with his family from the other side of the country. He grew up close to Oslo because his father was born there. We don’t have the chance to spend so much time with them because of the distance between Stavanger and Oslo so it was really nice that they showed up for the wedding. I have met them before except his ant (second from the right) and it was a pleasure to get to know her as well.

This is the cousins of my boyfriend on his mom’s side that live on Karmøy. We had really fun with these pictures because of all the fun things the wear for the pictures as you can see above. Below, you can see that me and boyfriend also had to take a photo with these things haha.

This is me and the bride’s daughter where we are enjoying the evening having fun on the pictures. It is lovely to be an ant for this beautiful girl and we connected well I must say.

I must say that the night was successful and she got many nice gifts with emotional moments where someones also was crying because they were touched of the speeches etc. We managed not to cry this time and I was a bit relieved over that since I get embarrassed.

When the wedding party was done we went to his mothers house since we were going to sleep there. Unfortunately I got sick today but I hope I will recover very soon. Now I am back in Stavanger again and ready for a new week.

Hope you have enjoyed your weekend!

Take care!

What a beautiful wedding location! My husband and I spent a few days in that area the last time we went to Norway; I was doing research for a novel I later released, called “The Cardinal” – part of it takes place at Avaldsnes, the birthplace of Norway and the ancient royal seat of the kings. It won’t be the last time we’re on Karmøy. 🙂
