Life is not only rosy and challenges might come your way in your everyday life. The challenges can be big or small and you might need to deal with them with different strategies. I believe that every challenge can be dealt with using the same tactic and that is trying to stay positive. Positivism will help you a lot in order to start dealing with your issues. It is easy to get pessimistic when you have something bothering you but negativism will only get you deeper into your problem and it is easy to be stuck in a negative pattern. I know that it is easy to say for the ones not having the problem but it is so true.
My boyfriend is finishing his master degree these days and is currently a job seeker in a very tough job market in Norway. Norway has been hit very hard by the slump in oil prices and many jobs have been lost. That has led to a pessimism in the business environment and there are fewer companies that hire people nowadays. After struggling hard for a degree it is easy to get frustrated and negative when you see the market going against you when you are finally done and it is your turn enter the job market.
I can admit that I have seen my boyfriend very frustrated lately and it is understandable. However, I have kept saying to him to any negativity will not help him at all since many others are in his situation and no company will ever want to hire a negative person. In the beginning it was a bit hard for him to listen to me since he felt that I did not understand his frustration but now he has taken my advice and try to stay positive despite the difficult situation he is in.
It has helped actually since he was at a job interview and still waiting for the result. He is applying for jobs and has a more positive mind now. What I am trying to say is that positivism will drive you towards your goal while negativism will only draw you back. No matter what situation you are in a positive mind will help you to beat the obstacles.
I believe in the power of the mind and believe that the things we think are what will be given to us. At the end of this post I want to share a story with you that has happened to me in real life. When I first moved to Stavanger I did not live with my boyfriend. He had already gotten an apartment and I went with him to see the place he was going to live. I fell deeply in love with the area that he was going to live in and the view that he had from his apartment. I told him that I was going to live in this very area sometime in the future and guess what, today I’m living in this area together with my boyfriend with the exactly the same view that he had when we first moved to Stavanger.
Therefor my encouragement to you guys is: stay positive and great things will happen to you!
