My childhood

August 15, 2016

As many of you know I grew up in Brazil in a village outside of the city of Rio de Janeiro. My childhood is full of memories and I want to share some of them in this post.

I don’t remember my life at this age but I remember this picture hanging on my Grandmother’s wall and I did not like it. I remember I used to tell my Grandmother that I did not like to look at it because I felt that I was an ugly and fat baby haha. After my dad past away I lived with my Grandmother for some years and it was a bit unstable for me since I switched between living at my mother’s and Grandmother’s house. When my dad past away I was only 4 years old. Anyway, despite having some bad memories from my childhood I choose to focus on the positive ones.

I believe that this is from my 5 years old birthday party and I remember that this party took place at a carnival. A relative of the new man of my mom owned a carnival where they actually lived and they spent the whole year there. My mom chose to celebrate my birthday there. I was very fascinated about superman and the marvellous woman at this stage in my life.

I think I was almost 7 years old on this picture and I remember that I lived with my Grandmother which is the mom of my dad. In Brazil we use uniform at school and this is from the graduation party in first grade. It is a little bit strange looking at myself as a little girl and I think that I look a bit shy here.

Every year we had a prom at the Midsummer festival where there were was first and second queen. I became the second queen and as you can see I have also loved to pose in front of the camera haha. I have many other memories from my childhood but these were the only ones that I had pictures from and that is why I included these. I want to especially thank my Grandmother for the role that she has played in my life. She took the role as both Grandmother and a mother and I love her very much.
