Hello wonderful readers! Today I have the honour to present a new guest of my new series “today’s special guest”
Hi there Amitav Thanks for accepting my invitation to be a guest on my blog today.
Hi Roberta. First, I would like to thank you for this initiative and also grateful that my interview, first ever, will be featured on your blog.
I can share some of my thoughts on the blogging journey and it’s wonderful being a guest on your blog, a place where many other wonderful bloggers are sharing their writing. A wonderful initiative started by you is bringing the blogging community here to express and share meaning ideas.
1. What made you want to start blogging?
Writing was something I always wanted to do but I never got the time due to my work. When I finally decided to adopt the pen and start penning down my thoughts, I was not sure if anyone other than my friends would read them.
I kept on writing for some time, before I decided to slowly put my work in online platforms. Initially, I was writing poetry and I joined a couple of amateur poetry sites where I could interact with fellow poets from across the world and also receive some feedback on my work.
Finally, I decided to start my blog, when I wanted to branch out to other genres of literature like- poetry, philosophy, essays, and articles. WordPress was the best blogging platform and that is how my blogging journey started. This gave me the freedom to write on different topics.
2. How would you describe your blog to someone that never read it?
I would quote the tagline of my blog- This blog is about ‘Facets of Life- Poetry, Words of Motivation, Philosophy, and Literature’
3. What’s your favorite part of blogging?
I would have to say that meeting and interacting with other bloggers is always interesting and I learned a lot along the way.
Since I started blogging, I have been writing regularly. This has helped me enhance my writing skills and also encouraged me to take writing seriously.
4. What are the most difficult things about blogging? And what do you find the easiest?
According to me writing original content with new ideas and getting noticed by readers initially is a challenge. I would not say it is difficult, but always a gradual process to encourage other bloggers to read my work.
On a lighter note, writing is never easy. I guess as we continue to write for some time, writers would like to convince the readers that it is an easy process.
5. How much time do you spend on blogging?
It depends on what I am writing. If I am preparing an article or essay, it takes time, as I have to read some related writing from journals and other sources.
I feel, even if I am not writing, I do spend time on reading other blogs and commenting and sharing my thoughts with them. If bloggers are taking time to visit your blog it is important you spend time and show interest in their work to continue a meaningful interaction.
6. What do you think is the best social media strategy to get more visitors to a blog?
Presenting original and valuable content is the most important strategy. There’s no point in publishing a post that lacks enthusiasm and has nothing new to communicate. Visitors will see the quality and truthfulness of your work and start visiting your blog regularly. Write content that holds the interest of readers till the end and also remains relevant for a long time.
Blogging is different from other social media platforms. Here we are presenting more detailed content related to topics of our interest. This requires continuous effort if one wishes to continue blogging seriously.
7. Would you encourage other people to make their blog?
Absolutely! I always encourage people to create a blog and also advise bloggers to write regularly to hone their writing skills. This blogging world in growing phenomenally and will generate a lot of content in days to come. More people joining the blogging community is good for us, as we get to interact with more talent who are eager to present their work.
8. What inspired you to start your blog?
It all started with my love for writing and to contribute in my own way to the entire creative process.
9. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
According to my experience, a blogger has to be self-motivated and try to be patient with the entire process. Interacting with bloggers, posting regularly, and being positive keeps this blog running.
10. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
Trying to be unique and yet, presenting my work in such a way that will connect with readers. Having clarity in writing is important and also challenging. But I love this challenge.
11. Can you name some of your favorite bloggers and explain why they are your favorites?
Difficult to choose favorites, as everyone is unique. I would say all bloggers from the blogger world are important. As I continue blogging I will meet more bloggers and trust me I will surely have something new to learn from them.
12. What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?
Since my blog is related to literature, philosophy, and motivational essays from the world of creativity, it was important for me to present interpretations that are my own. Traffic increases gradually, and it is always a good idea to build a strong foundation to sustain the blog in the future.
13. Is there anything else you would like to add?
The Blogging platform presents you the opportunity to write and present your ideas to the world. This is also a positive way to get noticed and consider taking up writing seriously. We have to take the next leap to ideate and collaborate in an endeavor to inspire young minds everywhere.
