Today's special guest; Japs

Happy Saturday sunshines! As a woman I love to read blogs of other women who like to share about fashion, but she about many other things too. I have been following Japs blog for a while and I think that she has a good taste and I am happy that she accepted to write about herself for us so that we can get to know her better. I also would love to say happy birthday to her since her birthday is in only 9 days. Spread some love and give her a warm welcome!

Hi there Japs. Thanks you for accepting my invitation to be a guest on my blog today. It is a pleasure to have you here today!

* Why thank you! This is an awesome gift too. What a lovely surprise.

Q.1) what made you want to start blogging?

*A friend of mine told me that instead of posting lengthy status on Facebook, why shouldn’t I make a blog instead. I have a lot of stories and insights to share.. it shouldn’t be kept to a few friends anymore. I was so hesitant because my network is small but I did it anyway.

Q.2) Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?

*Definitely a hobby.

Q.3) How would you describe your blog to someone that never read it?

*It’s called MissInformation because I tend to be someone who always “informs.” Unfortunately, people misinterpret me most of the time. Hence, the word MIS. My blog is a world full of many stories. You cannot differentiate which is which. I can be serious and write something about religion and relationships then pose on cam for my OOTD posts.

Q.4) What is the most difficult thing about blogging? And what do you find the easiest?

*For me, the most difficult thing in blogging is to not compare myself to other bloggers who seem to be better than me. When I start to be envious, I stop reading and focus on what I do best — being me. Easiest part of blogging is to share and engage myself to other people. It’s always easy for me to share a piece of me to others. I love that sharing (whether by writing or a giveaway) became easier because of my blog.

Q.5) How much time do you spend on blogging?

* 1-2 hrs a day (writing/reading)

Q.6) What do you think is the best social media strategy to get more visitors to a blog?

* Facebook & now Instagram linked to Facebook

Q.7) Would you encourage other people to make their blog?

*Yes, as an outlet and as a hobby

Q.8) How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

*As long as I know one single person blessed and motivated through my blog.

Q.9)Who were your first style icons?

*Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jennifer Lopez 😁

Q.10) Can you name some of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?

*Of course my favorite blogger-turned-into-friend, Beth of Everythingnothin and Jason of OpinionatedMan. Locally, my favorites are Tricia Gosingtian, Vern and Verniece Enciso and Heather Lindsey. They are my favorites because I can relate to them and they motivate me to be a better person/blogger.

Q.11) What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?

*Having contests/giveaways connected with food & fashion.

Q.12) What are you doing besides blogging?

*I work, teach, and write at home.

Q.13) What’s your favourite part of blogging?

*Sharing my thoughts, ideas and a piece of my life without the fear of being judged. I share too much in Facebook and my own “friends” misinterpret me. When I started blogging, I found people who understand me completely.

Q.14) A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?

*Do not do it for the money and opportunities will come to you. Once you enjoy and become passionate in writing, it will pay back eventually.

Q.15) What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?

*To be public. I’m a very private person. I have a limited Facebook friends list. Before, I’m not comfortable to post photos of me publicly. Now, I’m getting used to it knowing that my advocacy is to empower and encourage women everywhere.

Q.16) Who takes the majority of your photos?

*My loving and supportive husband 💑

Q.17) What would you say that is the biggest challenge about fashion blogging?

*Taking photos in public. People will stare and sometimes laugh at you. I just have to do it and learn to ignore what other people think.

Q.18) How would you describe your personal style and is there a person who is a fashion inspiration to you?

*My personal style is what makes me feel comfortable and still chic at the same time. I like clothes that hide my flaws but highlight my features. My fashion inspirations are Jennifer Aniston & Anne Curtis.

Q.19) What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger?

*(Invitations to fashion events, interaction with people, gifts, etc.) I have invites on a lot of events but I decline because first and foremost I’m a housewife, mom and a remote employee — these are my priorities. Blogging is just a hobby. I write to encourage and not to be in events. Honestly, I do not get a lot of sponsored gifts for my blog and once I receive something, I immediately give it to my followers. It’s funny how my followers think that I gain money from blogging when in fact most of my giveaways come from my own pocket.

Q.20)Is there anything else you would like to add?

*I want to thank everyone who supported me and listened to my story. Just stick with me and I promise to share more pieces of me soon. Thank you to everyone who trusts me and join me in this journey.

Thank you so much Roberta. I’m forever grateful! 😊

Excellent interview. She’s spot on about staying focused and not comparing yourself to other blogs.

Yeah, I find difficult sometimes but I agree with her that we should not compare ourselves with others . We are unique in our on way!

No two people are exactly alike, not even twins. I think that Bowie is right when he said that the amazing thing about getting old is that you become yourself.

I think he meant that we accept who we are and how we came to be the way we are.
